It appears that ISO 9001:2026 requires manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to evolve from static record-keeping tools into connected platforms that capture organizational knowledge, manage change, and preserve digital audit trails. The central question is not simply what must change, but how ERP and quality management systems (QMS) can deliver greater business value.

A sharper focus for ISO 9001:2026

Published in September 2026, the revision is an evolution, not a redesign. The revised standard retains ISO 9001’s established architecture while placing greater emphasis on performance, resilience, leadership, and strategic alignment.
