When is the last time you had the opportunity to ‘get certified’ in an ERP?
While many ERPs have formal certification opportunities that require considerable financial investment, Intuit is offering a certification for QuickBooks ProAdvisors in ‘Intuit Enterprise Suite’ (IES) through the ProAdvisor Academy.
Whether you are advising clients about transitioning from a QuickBooks product to IES or helping them optimize IES after they complete the transition, the Intuit Enterprise Suite ‘certification’ provides you with the skill set you need to deliver high-value advisory services and grow your practice.
The IES Certification is a 5-hour self-paced learning program that focuses exclusively on what matters when supporting businesses that are appropriate for, or have chosen to, transition to IES.
The training is centered around a group of four courses that vary in length, CPE credits, and highlighted content.
Introduction to Intuit Enterprise Suite (60 minutes). This introductory course provides you with information regarding what IES is, and who it is designed for. The course also explores key functionalities that set IES apart from other QuickBooks products.
Additional content encompasses the fundamentals of client onboarding and navigating the product user interface.
Working with Multi-entities (60 minutes). One of the major advantages of Intuit Enterprise Suite over other QuickBooks products is the ability to manage multi-entities even from a consolidated viewpoint. This course covers the manner in which multi-entity businesses are set-up, how they can have both unique charts of accounts, but share a chart of accounts for purposes of consolidated reporting.
Speaking of consolidated reporting, you will learn about both consolidated dashboards and reports. You will also learn how IES allows for ‘intercompany transactions’ with automatic eliminations.
I.E.S. Project Accounting (40 minutes). While IES has recently added a ‘construction version’ that expands on project management, this course provides you with a thorough understanding of project set-up and establishment of profitability goals. You will also explore job costing, budgeting and project task automation. The course also covers specific reporting options for project-driven clients and how you can ‘close out’ project-related financials.
I.E.S. Business Intelligence (90 minutes). Intuit is expanding artificial intelligence across their entire accounting line, and that certainly is true with Intuit Enterprise Suite. In this course you will learn how Intuit is expanding business intelligence using the power of AI to provide dashboards and reporting surrounding key performance indicators and other critical data (like cash-flow) that is strategic in making timely decisions for larger enterprises. You will see the power of budgeting and forecasting tools and visual reports that turn data into insights.
All in all, this 4.5 CPE credit ‘certification’ will provide you with the fundamentals you need to identify which of your clients is potentially well suited for Intuit Enterprise Suite. You will also learn how to explain IES to your clients, and what sets it apart from other Intuit accounting software like QuickBooks Online Advanced. You will also learn how to help your client prepare for the process of migration from their current QuickBooks to I.E.S.
There are exciting things coming down the path for ProAdvisors supporting I.E.S. under the new Intuit ProPartner program. We are also hearing that there will be 'sandbox' opportunities that you will be able to use to demonstrate the benefits of I.E.S. to your clients that might be a great fit for this entry-level ERP. So, now is the perfect time to get Certified in I.E.S. before the rush is on.
The Intuit Enterprise Suite Certification program is available in ProAdvisor Academy which you can access from the ProAdvisor (training) icon within Intuit Accountant Suite or QuickBooks Online-Accountant.
By the way, the I.E.S. Certification training and 'certification itself' will earn you valuable points in your 2027 Advisor Awards which Insightful Accountant will launch early this Fall. Stay tuned for more information about the awards, application process, and anticipated announcement date for award recipients.
